Boosted Pods

The Boosted Pods line has two parts: the Boosted Device, which you buy once, and 3-packs of pods, which you reorder. A first order might include the device and a pack, and later orders might be pod packs only. Before you order, check the device's product page to see which pods it takes. The pods come in mint and fruit flavours, and the line is priced from $1.99 to $4.99.

The Boosted Device and 3-pack pods on one page

This line has one hardware listing, the Boosted Device. Every other listing is a pack of three pods, and each flavour comes only in that pod-pack format.

Health Canada describes a closed vaping device as one that holds a cartridge or pod pre-filled with vaping liquid. The pod is thrown away once it runs out (Health Canada: About vaping). In an open system, by contrast, you add liquid to a tank or pod yourself. Health Canada's general description also says a pod can combine a liquid reservoir and a heating element (the part that heats the liquid) in a single unit. These are general definitions. This line has no separate bottle of liquid to pick, because every flavour comes as a pod pack. That means you need to know whether a pod fits before you think about flavour. Confirm on the Boosted Device page which pods it takes, then choose a pack.

Reading the nicotine strength on a Boosted pack

Before you choose, check the nicotine concentration shown on the product listing and on the pack. Don't assume one strength applies to the whole line. The figure is given in mg/mL, which means milligrams of nicotine per millilitre of liquid.

The Nicotine Concentration in Vaping Products Regulations set a maximum of 20 mg/mL for vaping products manufactured or imported for sale in Canada. The same regulations prohibit packaging and selling a vaping product if its package displays a concentration above 20 mg/mL (Health Canada: Vaping products regulations). Health Canada notes that since July 2021, legal vaping substances in Canada contain 0 to 20 mg/mL of nicotine. The label figure is a per-millilitre measure, so you can use it to compare one pack with another.

Mint-family pods: a straight mint and a wintergreen

Two Boosted pods fall in the menthol profile. Going by their names, Just Mint is a plain mint and Winter Green is a wintergreen-style mint. Both come in the same 3-pack format, so the choice comes down to the type of mint each name describes.

Fruit pods: grape, citrus, and dragon fruit with mango

Most of the line's flavours are fruit. Three pods name their fruit outright:

• Great Grape is a grape pod.
• Triple Citrus is named for a blend of three citrus fruits.
• Dragon Mango is named for dragon fruit and mango.

If you want a single fruit rather than a blend, grape is the only one of the three. The remaining pod listing doesn't name a fruit, so open its product page to read its description.
