About
Every Rope Cut salt nic bottle we carry is a 30 mL salt liquid in the tobacco profile, priced at $26.99. That leaves you two choices: the name (Dark Thirty, Skipper, Loose Canon or Blackbeard) and the strength, 10 mg/mL or 20 mg/mL. You pick the strength with the selector on each listing, and the price stays the same either way.
A few tobacco salts, one size, one price
Every bottle in the Rope Cut Salt line has the same size, nicotine form, flavour profile and price. That leaves two decisions: which blend you want, and how much nicotine you want in it. Each product page lists that bottle's own details, so open the listings side by side to compare them.
For tobacco options from other brands, browse our tobacco flavours, and for other bottled salt lines, see the full salt nic range.
Choosing between 10 mg/mL and 20 mg/mL
The number on the label is milligrams of nicotine per millilitre of liquid, so 10 mg/mL is half the concentration of 20 mg/mL.
Health Canada states that since July 2021, the Nicotine Concentration in Vaping Products Regulations have limited vaping products sold in Canada to a maximum of 20 mg/mL. Legal vaping substances now contain 0 to 20 mg/mL, salt and freebase alike, so 20 mg/mL is the highest strength any legal bottle can have.
If you already use a salt liquid, the simplest approach is to match the strength printed on your current bottle and confirm it in the selector before you add a bottle to your cart.
What "salt" means on these bottles
Vaping liquids commonly use one of two forms of nicotine: freebase or nicotine salts. Health Canada's About vaping page describes nicotine salts as nicotine dissolved in a liquid mixture that is chemically adjusted to be weakly acidic. Like freebase products, salt liquids contain propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin, plus flavouring ingredients.
Rope Cut Salt bottles are refill liquids, so they go into an open device. Health Canada describes an open device as one you fill by hand, adding liquid to a tank or a pod. Closed devices work differently: they use prefilled pods, or the whole device is thrown away once it's empty.
What to check on the bottle when it arrives
Every legal bottle has to meet federal packaging and labelling rules. Health Canada lists them on its Vaping product safety page:
- Child-resistant packaging on any product with a nicotine concentration of 0.1 mg/mL or more.
- A label in English and French that lists the ingredients, including flavours.
- A nicotine concentration statement in mg/mL.
- Toxicity information, including a hazard symbol and a first aid treatment statement.
- A health warning message about nicotine.
- A vaping excise stamp over the seal.
Health Canada also advises against using vaping products of unknown content or origin, and does not recommend adding anything to vaping liquids that the manufacturer did not intend.
