About
The Sony VTC6 battery is the one product on our Sony page: an 18650 cell listed at 3000mAh and 30A, priced at $15.99. The VTC6 is a replacement battery, not a vaping device, and it only suits devices built to take removable 18650 cells. Check your device's manual for the cell size and the number of cells before you order.
One cell on this page: the Sony VTC6 18650
The VTC6 is listed in our Hardware category. It holds no nicotine and no e-liquid, and there are no flavour or strength options to pick from, so the only decision is whether the cell fits your device.
In our store, Sony is a battery line, not a vape device brand. That changes what you need to check. Instead of comparing flavours or pod formats, you compare the figures in the listing name with what your device's manual asks for.
Reading 18650, 3000mAh and 30A on the listing
The Sony VTC6 listing name carries three figures, and each one answers a different fit question.
18650: the size format
The number 18650 names a battery cell size format. Check the size first, because the cell has to physically fit your device's battery bay. A device built for a different cell format will not take an 18650.
3000mAh: capacity
The mAh figure (milliamp-hours) is a capacity rating: how much charge the cell holds. The listing gives 3000mAh for the VTC6.
30A: current rating
The A figure (amps) is the current rating: how much electrical current the cell is rated to deliver. The listing gives 30A. Compare this figure and the capacity with what your device's manual calls for, and let the manual decide.
Devices that take a removable 18650 cell
Health Canada's About vaping page sorts vaping devices into two kinds, open and closed. An open device is filled by hand, with vaping liquid added to a tank or pod. A closed device either holds a prefilled cartridge or pod that is thrown away once empty, or is itself thrown away once it runs out of liquid or charge (a "disposable").
A disposable has no use for a separate cell. Neither does any device with a built-in battery. The open or closed label doesn't settle the question by itself. What matters is whether the device has a removable 18650 battery bay.
Before you order, check three things in the device manual: the cell size, how many cells the device takes, and how the cells should be charged. Then follow the device maker's instructions for fitting and charging. For other equipment we carry, browse our vape hardware range.
