How do I check the nicotine concentration?

Look for the mg/mL figure displayed on the package. That number is the concentration you're buying, so compare it with what you normally use before you fill a device.

Canada's maximum puts that figure in context. According to Health Canada, the Nicotine Concentration in Vaping Products Regulations set a maximum nicotine concentration of 20 mg/mL for vaping products manufactured or imported for sale in Canada. The same regulations prohibit packaging and selling a vaping product if the concentration displayed on the package exceeds 20 mg/mL. A package that meets these rules will therefore show 20 mg/mL or lower.

What Canadian rules require on a nicotine liquid bottle

The brand doesn't decide on its own what goes on the label and cap. Health Canada's Vaping Products Labelling and Packaging Regulations (VPLPR) come in two parts. One part sets labelling requirements under the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act. The other sets labelling requirements, child-resistant container requirements and requirements on maximum nicotine concentration under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
